Can I say something? To be honest, I don't want to turn EVERY blog post into a sermon. A majority of my posts will continue to be faith related. I love faith and there isn't anyone or anything I love more than Jesus or anything I like to talk about more than Jesus.
More than anything I want to add more variety to my blog. I want to have a little bit of everything. I hope I don't lose anybody over this decision. There will always be people that will disagree with what you do and I accept that. When you try to please everyone the person that gets disappointed is yourself. If you live for people's acceptance—you'll die from their rejection.
I want to talk about things like music, fitness, family, education, lifestyle, other blogs, why some people side hug while others front hug, gluten free food, why people take selfies, swag, jobs, why people play Call of Duty, food, why people wear tight pants, TOM shoes, fails, trends, etc. The list goes on and on. I think you get the point. Diversity is a good thing.
I don't want to run away from the secular world, I want to chase after the secular world. Jesus went after everyone, not just the righteous. I want to do the same. I love Jesus and more than anything I want everyone I know to come to Jesus.
I feel like so many "religious folk" don't engage culture because they're afraid of it. When we don't engage culture we miss out on God's redemption. If something doesn't fit into scripture, sanctification, or salvation we don't want anything to do with it. More than anything—engaging culture is loving and accepting people no matter who they are or what they believe.
I'm doing this because I want to work on my own writing skills. I want to write towards a larger audience hopefully having the opportunity to impact more people. I want to be a more versatile writer. Talking about my faith in every post doesn't make me anymore holy, and me not talking about it doesn't make me less holy. I hope you can be gracious with me—as the Lord has been gracious with us all.
